I've learned to milk cows and vaccinate them (pretty good for a city girl), played with a television camera on a 50ft. tower during an ESPN rehearsal, studied the specifications of twenty-two kinds of water and effluent pumps, and gotten an in-depth tour of a horse breeding and training farm.

If you love your business, product or organization, I probably will too. As a writer, I'm curious, engaged, fired up by the possibilities and variety in life. I see things with a different sort of lens … And that's what you want when you are looking for inspired, innovative work.

Some of my favorite things about being a writer are what I learn, whom I meet, and what I get to do in the process.

In my career, I've met everyone from CEOs of major corporations, celebrity athletes, one former Crown Prince, a magician, an award-winning dairy farmer, to a young teacher who runs a side business raising sport fish and aquatic plants – among others.

I’ve interviewed Jack Nicklaus, and watched him at work as a businessman at an all-day sales event.

Recently, I worked on one of the best projects ever – working with National Geographic, on behalf of a local college. Dr. Robert Ballard is a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, a world-famous ocean scientist and educator, who has discovered new marine life-forms, along with some of the most famous shipwrecks of history, like the Titanic. I got to spend 12 hours with one of the most brilliant, exciting and famous men in the world. (He’s also one of the nicest and most fun.) My work doesn’t get any better than that!
